Lucy Brown (née Bradley)

Lucy Bradley Brown (1756-1843) was a wealthy young woman residing in Wilmington, North Carolina when she married Colonel Thomas Brown in 1780. As British forces occupied Wilmington during the Revolutionary War, Lucy Brown and her family had to evacuate for their safety. When her husband Thomas was severely wounded during the Battle of Big Bridge, Lucy and the Bradley family helped care for him. Later when her husband was imprisoned as a prisoner of war for several months, Lucy send her younger sister to check in on him.
