This day personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace for the County above written. Mrs Ann McRee of the Town of Wilmington who being first duly sworn according to Law testafies and says: That she is now in the 73d. year of her age; and has resided nearly all her life in the Town of Wilmington and she well recollects the marriage of Col Thomas Brown with Lucy Bradly now his widow and applying for a Pension—the precise date this affiant cannot now state but she knows it took place before the British got possession of Wilmington and ^as^ well as she can now say it was in the early part of the year 1780. This affiant well recollects the fact that Col Brown was wounded in the engagement at Big Bridge—and was afterwards a Prisoner of War in Wilmington for some time. In conclusion this affiant can testafy that throughout the Revolution Col: Brown was constantly in the service of the country and performed as much if not more service than any other person in this section of the country—

I certify that Mrs McRee is an aged & respectable citizen of our Town & that full faith & credit is are due to her testimony. Given under my hand & seal this 11th day of April 1839.
