Ann Fergus McRee was born in about 1765. A resident of New Hanover County, North Carolina, she married Griffith John McRee, a former captain in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. The couple had ten children before Griffith McRee's death in 1801. In 1839 Ann McRee made a sworn affidavit in support of a pension for Lucy Brown, a fellow Revolutionary War widow. She died in Brunswick County, North Carolina in 1842.
