On this 8th day of December 1845 personally appeared George Kinder Admr. of Margaret Kinder in open court held at Wythe before of one of the magestrates of said court of the county and state aforesaid aresidint of the county and State aforesaid who being first duly Sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benifit of the provision made by congress passed July 4th. 1836 Entitled an act granting half pay and pension to certain widows
That the said Margaret Kinder was the widow of Peter Kinder who was a soldier in the war of the revolution and was drafted or enlisted a private in the County of Wythe and State of Virginia Some time in the year Seventeen hundred and served until Eighty one
And Served untill the battle at gilford court house North carolina was desided and there was shot and wound so that he had to [illegible] quit Service the lenth of the time he served and being wounded till he returned was about one year or upards, as near as can be recollected he served under mr Cloyd and in North carolina under Conl Retherford
He further declares that Margaret Kinder was married to Peter Kinder the [intentionally blank] day of [intentionally blank] seventeen hundred and seventy four that [intentionally blank] the aforesaid peter kinder died 22th. Sept. 1809 that She was ma married to him prior to his leaving the searvice but their marriage took place prior to the first day of January 1794 viz at the time above stated—

Wythe County} towit:
I, John P. Mathews, Clerk of the County Court of the County of Wythe, in the State of Virginia, do certify, that Casper Yost, before whom the foregoing Declaration was Sworn and Subscribed, was at the time said Declaration was made, and still is an acting Magistrate of said County of Wythe, duly Commissioned, and that the foregoing Signature, purporting to be his is genuine. I further Certify, that said Casper Yost was at the time a member of the Court then in Session as Stated in the foregoing Declaration.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name and affixed the Seal of the said Court, this 20th. day of December in the year 1845.
