This day personally appeared before me the undersign'd a Justice of the peace ^for said^ County ^Elizabeth J Kinder^ and made oath in due form of Law that she was personally acquainted with Peter Kinder and his wifee and that the She recolects the time when Philip Kinder the Brother of Peter Kinder and Peter Kinders wife went over to North Carolina with a waggin and teem and braught home Peter Kinder who was wounded in the leg or ancle at the battle of Gilford

I, John P. Mathews, Clerk of the County Court of the County of Wythe, in the State of Virginia, do certify, that George Porter, before whom the foregoing affidavit was sworn and subscribed, was at the time said affidavit was made, and still is an acting Magistrate of said County of Wythe, duly Commissioned, and that the foregoing Signature, purporting to be his, is genuine.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed the Seal of the said Court, this 20th. day of November in the year 1845.
