State of Virginia, Blythe County (To Wit)
Be it known that on this eighth day of December 1845 before me the subscriber a justice of the peace of the county and state aforesaid, personally appeared John Doak aged Eighty One Years, being first duly sworn according to Law, deposeth and saith that he was personally acquainted with Peter Kinder and his wife, and know that he was called into cervice, to North Carolina, during the Revolutionary war, and have allways understood that he (the said Peter Kinder) was wounded during the cervice aforesaid.

Wythe County} towit:
I, John P. Mathews, Clerk of the County Court of Wythe County in the State of Virginia, do certify that Daniel Brown before whom the foregoing affidavit was sworn, was at the time said affidavit was made, and still is an acting Magistrate of said County of Wythe, duly Commissioned, and that the foregoing signature, purporting to be his, is genuine.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name and affixed the Seal of the said Court this 20th. day of December in the year 1845.
