Hubbard Brown Jordan was born on July 22, 1885, in South Carolina. Jordan was an employee of the Tallassee Power Company at Badin, North Carolina. In 1919, he gave testimony during an investigation into alleged mistreatment of laborers by Tallassee Power management. He later worked for the Alma Furniture Company in High Point. His first name may have been Herbert, earlier in life, and during the investigation into Tallassee, he was repeatedly misidentified as "H. P. Jourdan." Jordan died in High Point on August 3, 1925.
