I have your letter of the 4th September addressed to John G. Bynum Esq. in the case of Mrs Sarah Jenkins' Claim for pension, now before me in her Claim under the act of 4 July 1836 you Said it was incumbent upon her to Shew under what circumstances She could be married in November 1777 to him when he was in service. This should have ben incerted in her Declaration but was neglected by myself. She has made an affidavit and I herewith forward it in order sattisfacturley to shew under what circumstances she was married to her late husband John Jenkins During the time of or before the Expiration of his Service in the war of the revolution, if the marriage can not be Established Sattisfacturley in noother way than licancs church regster &c the presumtion is that Shuch proof Cannot be percured, if the records of the Comptroller General of South Carolina Shewing the termination of the late husbans service, would be sufficient with the proof already made. We will percure it, and if not we have only to say that She must Except of the provision made by the act of 7 July, 1838, and that you Can forward her Certificate addressed to Swangstown Rutherford County, N. Carolina.
