Biographical Description

Samuel Swann (1704-1774) was a surveyor and leading North Carolina politician during the mid-1700s. In the General Assembly, he represented the Perquimans District (1725-1739) and Onslow County (1739-1762) and served as Speaker of the Assembly (1742-1754 & 1756-1762).
