Biographical Description

Elizabeth Jones was a resident of Guilford County, North Carolina. The wife of a Regulator sympathizer, following the Battle of Alamance Jones made a deposition in support of John Pugh, a prominent Regulator. In her deposition, Jones gave John Pugh an alibi for the Hillsborough Riot that happened in September 1770, hoping to help Pugh receive a pardon. Elizabeth Jones later resided in Randolph County, North Carolina, where she died sometime after 1797.
