Biographical Description

Ann Ferguson was the wife of Thomas Ferguson, who enlisted in the North Carolina militia during the War of Regulation. He served in the artillery and was killed during the Battle of Alamance on 16 May 1771. Following his death, Ann Ferguson successfully petitioned the North Carolina Assembly for a widow's pension. She was awarded one hundred pounds for the purchase an enslaved individual for her personal use. Any further information about Ann Ferguson, including her date of death has not been located.
