Biographical Description

Gyles Shute was born in England sometime before 1683 and was a resident of Beaufort Precinct, North Carolina. A local justice of the peace, in 1723 he issued bonds for Chistopher Dudley to appear in court after Dudley was accused to attacking a Tuscarora Indian man named Sighacka. Shute died in Bath County in 1730.
