Biographical Description
John Douglas Taylor was born in Wilmington, New Hanover County on March 24, 1831. He attended the University of North Carolina, graduating in 1853 before becoming a planter and politician, and he was involved in Eliza Margaret Cotten's social circle. He died in Wilmington on May 21, 1912.
