Biographical Description

Robert Palmer (1724-1790) was a colonial official, militia officer, and politician who served as surveyor general of North Carolina (commissioned 1753), a member of the colonial Assembly representing the town of Bath (1762), and a member of the North Carolina Council (1764-1771). He additionally participated in the efforts to put down the Regulators in 1768 and 1771.
