Faithy Smith was a resident of Dobbs County, North Carolina. After her husband John died during the Battle of Alamance Faithy Smith petitioned the North Carolina Colonial Assembly requesting a widow's pension to support herself and the couple's infant child. She was awarded one hundred pounds for the purchase of an enslaved individual for her personal use. While it is possible Faithy Smith is the same Mrs. Smith who supported the militia on 25 April 1771, there is not enough evidence to be certain.
