Biographical Description

Elizabeth Crickett was a signer of a 1774 nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. Although no definitive evidence has been located, Elizabeth Crickett was likely related to Mary Littledale and Sarah Valentine, two other signers of the resolves that were part of the Crickett family. Most plausibly, Elizabeth Crickett was the daughter of John and Mary Crickett (later Littledale), and was born in Chowan County, North Carolina sometime between 1751 and 1755. After signing the resolves, Elizabeth Crickett might have died or changed her last name through marriage, as no further records have been located that can aid in her identification.
