Biographical Description
James Nicholas Mayrant was a French Huguenot who was born in about 1688 and arrived in South Carolina by 1697. A plantation owner, he resided in Winyaw Parish and was a member of the South Carolina Colonial Assembly from 1721 to 1722 and from 1724 to 1726. He died in South Carolina on February 20, 1728.
