John Yarborough was born in Floyd County, Kentucky in about 1791. The son of a revolutionary war veteran, he worked as a farmer and brickmason and moved west, eventually settling in Oregon. As a surviving son of Randolph and Mary Yarborough, he was rightfully eligible to receive a share a revolutionary war pension along with his other surviving siblings. He died in Josephine County, Oregon on October 13, 1873.
