Elizabeth Dye Gladden was born in Fairfield District, South Carolina in about 1751. There, she married William Gladden, a Revolutionary War soldier and the couple had at least eight children together before his death in 1793. Elizabeth lived the remainder of her life as a widow and managed a plantation. In 1839 she made a sworn affidavit in support of her sister's widow's pension application. She died in Fairfield County, South Carolina on June 23, 1858.
