Biographical Description

Pleasant Henderson Hanes was born in Fulton (Davie County), North Carolina, on October 16, 1845. Hanes was a prominent industrialist who served as president of the P. H. Hanes Knitting Company from 1902 until his death in Winston-Salem (Forsyth County) on June 9, 1925.
