William Harrison was a resident of Tyrrell County. In 1777 his brother James recruited him to become a member of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy, and William accordingly swore three oaths of secrecy. When the plot was discovered William gave a sworn deposition about his knowledge of the plot and gave a bond agreeing to appear before the Edenton District Court of Oyer and Terminer later that year.
