Biographical Description
Berry O'Kelly was born circa 1861 in Orange County, North Carolina. O'Kelly was a prominent Wake County entrepreneur, business leader, philanthropist, and educational advocate who championed the uplift of African American citizens through the building of schools, political campaigning, and civic leadership. He died in Raleigh on March 14, 1931.
