Charles Hodgson Turner was born on July 11, 1873, in Brooklyn, New York. Turner was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and the president of the Henderson Ice and Cold Storage Company in Henderson, North Carolina. During World War I, he served as chairman of the Vance County Exemption Board. Turner died in Henderson on January 2, 1928.
