Declaration
In order to obtain the benefit of the 3d. Section of the act of Congress of the 4th. July 1836;

Sessions May Term 1845.
On this 26th. day of May 1845, personally appeared before the Court, Nelly Taburn a resident of this County & State aged 85 years, who being first duly Sworn according to Law doth on her Oath make the following declaration, in Order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the act of Congress passed July 4th. 1836;
That she is the Widow of William Taburn Sr. who was a private in the No. Carolina Militia in the Revolutionary War, who was late a Pensioner of the adjoining County of Granville N.C. That was placed on the Pension Roll under the act of June 7th. 1832, at the Rate of $34.44 Cts per annum—She further declared that she was married to the said William Taburn Sr. on the 2nd day of January 17. Hundred and Seventy eight, (1778) that her husband the aforesaid William Taburn Sr. died on the 4th day of February 1835, and that she has remaind a widow ever since That Period as will more fully appear by reference to the proof hereunto annexed—

I Marcellus J. Montgomery Clerk of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions for said County do Certify that it has been satisfactorly proven before the Court, that the within declarant Nelly Taburn is the widow of the same Willam Taburn, That was a pensioner of Granville County at the rate of $34.34 cents pr annum & that he did die on the 4th. day of February 1835, & that she was married in the year 1778 & that she is now a widow and has never married since the death of her said Husband—Whereupon the Court Ordered That the Clerk of this Court Certify these procedings to the War Department
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal of office at Office in the Town of Warrenton this 26th. day of May 1845.
