Be it known that on the 19th. day of November AD. 1851—personally appeared before me the undersigned a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Mecklenburg and State of N. Carolina Martha Montgomery a resident of said County who being duly qualified states that, She is near about seventy years of age, that She resides now, and had resided all her life within two miles of Susannah Alexander. That she was well acquainted with John Alexander the husband of the said Susannah, he was always reputed to have been a brave soldier, and to have served throughout a greater part of the Revolutionary War. That she never knew any other John Alexander who served in the war of the Revolution, but the husband Susannah Alexander—She further states Susannah Alexander is still living—
