Claim of Rosanna Murray, under the Act of 4th July, 1836.
———
In this case the widow claims for several short tours in the militia, and for one term of ten months which she says, under oath she knows of her own knowledge her ^husband^ served. As to this term of ten months we have no record proof. But the Certificate of the Comptroller of South Carolina shows that he was paid for 179 days of service, at different periods of time. The widow having sworn to more than ten months service, and having proved by documentary evidence 5 months & 29 days service, I think the claim for six months service ^at least^ out to be allowed.
When the number of days stated in the Certificate of the Comptroller came to be added up, the time amounts to 179 days instead of 159 as he states in his certificate. He must have made a mistake in adding.
