We enclose the claim of Mrs Rosana Murray of Illinois widow of John B. Murray de'd—We do not send the proof of marriage because unless the Records in your Department shew his Services it will be useless to go to the expence of making such proof as she does not at this time know of any person by whom she can prove the Services of her husband.

We have to request that we may be informed of the facts, as to whether any proof is [aforded] by the Records in your office or not—& presume such information [can] now to give as her Declaration is on file.
