I certify that, in conformity with the 3d section of the law of the United States, of the 4th of July, 1836, Ruth Edwards of North Carolina widow of John Edwards who was a Sergeant, in the revolutionary War is entitled to receive Seventy Seven dollars and fifty cents per annum, during the time she may remain unmarried, commencing on the 16 October 1833 and payable semi-annually on the 4th of March and 4th of September.

Given at the War Office of the United States, this Ninth day of December one thousand eight hundred and forty-four.
