To the Honorable Locke Craige, Governor of N.C.

My dear Governor,

When you were here last, I was very anxious to see you. I wished to ask a great favor of you, which conscerns not me alone, but thousands of other unfortunate people who have tuberculosis.

Would it be too much to ask you, to invite Dr. Friedman to come down here, and to assist him to obtain a lisence to practice here? You know there are a great many people in Asheville who need his services badly.

I am willing to give him three hundred dollars in advance, should he come down to Ashevill and give me his cure, and I am sure that there are many wealthy persons in Asheville who are afflicted with the same sickness, and who would pay well to be cured.

Should you do this, the blessings of many would be heaped upon you

Hoping that this will find you and your family well and prosperous

I am sincerely

Yours
