Nineteen fifteen.
Mr. W. H. Rhodes,
U. S. Highway Engineer,
Office of Public Roads,
My dear Sir:
The law that you speak of in reference to convicts for the road from Old Fort to Ridgecrest, provides: That the board of directors of the State's Prison be and is hereby authorized to furnish as many convicts as practicable, not less than twenty-five, to be used in the construction of the said road, according to the plans and the specifications made by and under the supervision of the Highway Commission of Old Fort Township, heretofore appointed by the Governor."
The Board of directors of the State's Prison meets during the first part of the next month, and will at that time pass upon this matter. I feel sure that the convicts will be furnished.
Yours truly,
