Yours April 18th 1840 to Mr Johnson to agent for huldah Hill an applicant for a Pension in reply to the letter I wrote some time previous to the date of yours in respect to sending my family register to your office. I decline doing so I then stated to the agent the same time, the agent states to me now he declines acting except I will consent for him to send my family register to your office, I here state to you that I think no respectable family will, that I take it as an insult from your department to my family, & the laws of the State I live under, the agent will recieve a communication if convenient before the last of Noveb'r next, your letter the agent handed me some time past, the agent States the confusion in congress in the last session I have left It lay to the present
