On the [intentionally blank] day of February 1839, at the House of Huldah Hill widow of John Hill decsd, said widow appeared before me James Gordon one of the Judges of the Court of Pleas & quarter Sessions for the above County & after being duly sworn according to Law doth on her Oath make this Supplimental Declaration in order to obtain the Provision of the Act of Congress the 7th, June 1832, that she is the identical widow of John Hill decsd, & that She has not Married Since & that her husband was a Soldier of the Army of the revolution She states that it is not in her power at the present day to prove that John Hill her husband is the identical man that performed the Service Set forth in the Certificate obtained from the Secretary of the State of North Carolina any other way than She has done in her former Declaration his last service She well recollects as to her Marriage to John Hill She had at the time a Short acquaintence & her Parrents opposed it & in the absence of her Father & without the knowledge of her Mother & family John Hill sent James Duncan for her a boy She suppose about ten years of age & She went with him to John Hill & was marred by Stephen Miller as She understood a Justice of the Peace & James Duncan present She marrying from home & the Confusion in the Country at the time She suppose her husband kept no date of their Marriage till after the birth of her first Child then a Register was kept of the family in a large Bible belonging to the family & the following is a true statement from the family Register, John Hill was born February the 4th day 1749, Huldah Jackson now the wife of John Hill was born February the 7th, day 1764, Married in the year 1780.

The following is correct from the family Register of the names & births of the Children of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife,

John Hill the son of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 9th, day January 1781,

Sarah Hill the Daughter of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 23th, day April 1783,

Abraham Hill the son of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 22th, day July 1785,

Isaac Hill the son of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 9th, day January 1788,

Jacob Hill the son of John Hill & Hildah Hill his wife was born the 21th, day December 1790,

Elizabeth Hill the Daughter John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 12th day of November 1793,

Jonathan J Hill the son of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 9th. day January 1795,

Jonathan Hill the son of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 27th, February 1797,

Huldah Hill the Daughter of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 6th, day October 1799,

William Hill the son of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 7th, day September 1804,

Rebekah Hill the Daughter of John Hill & Huldah Hill his wife was born the 23th. day April 1809,

That her husband John Hill died the 14th, day of August 1817,

I James Gordon one of the Judges of the county court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions for the County of Anson & State of NCarolina do Certify that from my Personal Acquaintance with Huldah Hill widow & Petioner for Pension & Elizabeth Bartley who gave the within Certificate both are woman of Credit & the within Certifcat Copy taken from the family appears to have been kept by John Hill Decd, in a Large family Bible are a true copy
