Biographical Description

Moses Griffin was born in Craven County, North Carolina in about 1753. A merchant by trade, he enlisted in the Craven County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia and was wounded during the Battle of Alamance. Griffin later petitioned the North Carolina Colonial Assembly for a pension and was awarded £15 per year. He died in New Bern on 14 March 1816.
