Elizabeth Harper was a resident of Craven County. In 1771 she lost her husband Peter, who had enlisted in the North Carolina Militia, during the Battle of Alamance. Following his death, Harper successfully petitioned the North Carolina Colonial Assembly for a widow's pension and received one hundred pounds to put towards the purchase of an enslaved individual to help the Harper family. Any further information about Elizabeth Harper, including her date of death has not been located.
