While it is difficult to identify Elizabeth Vail for certain, one strong likelyhood is that this Elizabeth Vail was born in Chowan County in about 1753. This Elizabeth Vail was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Vail, both of whom died by 1766. In 1774 she and some of her extended family signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea party Resolves. She later married Dominick or Dominique Pambrune, a French doctor, sometime after July 1778. She died in Chowan County in about 1814.
