Colburn, Eleazer

Biographical Description

Eleazer Colburn was born in Dracut, Massachusetts on June 26, 1796. Colburn came to Raleigh in the 1830s to serve as superintendent of the state quarry, a job closely connected with the construction of the state capitol. He died in Raleigh on August 4, 1861.
