Murray M. Holladay, Sr. was born on July 20, 1878, in Clarendon County, South Carolina. Holladay was a carpenter, watchman, and gate operator at Tallassee Power Company's Narrows Dam at Badin, North Carolina. He died in Clarendon County, South Carolina on August 31, 1953.
