Biographical Description

Thomas Spires was a planter in Chowan Precinct, North Carolina. In 1721 he received compensation for assisting in the trial of John Cope, an American Indian man who had been charged with burglary and trespassing. Spires later served as the deputy marshal of Bertie Precinct, where he died sometime after 1727.
