Ruffin, Thomas, Jr.

Biographical Description

Thomas Ruffin was born on September 21, 1824, in Hillsborough (Orange County) North Carolina. He was a lawyer, North Carolina Supreme Court Justice (1881 to 1883), and a Confederate veteran. He helped to prepare the contract for the sale of the Western North Carolina Railroad. He died on May 23, 1889, and was buried in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
