Biographical Description

John William Barineau was born on October 23, 1882 in Decatur, Georgia. Barineau was a farmer who served with the North Carolina National Guard. As first lieutenant in the Lincoln Home Guard Company, he was called out to Charlotte in August 1919 to assist in enforcing order during a labor uprising. Barineau died in Lincolnton, North Carolina on May 12, 1930.
