Roberts, William Paul

Biographical Description

William Paul Roberts was born in Gates County, North Carolina, on July 11, 1841. Roberts was a farmer, state legislator, and a general in the Confederate Army. He represented Gates County in the constitutional conventions of 1868 and 1875, and served in the North Carolina legislature beginning in 1876. He died in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 27, 1910.
