Biographical Description

Sam Wilson, born circa 1875 in North Carolina, was incarcerated at the state prison farm at Tillery in Halifax County in 1919-1920. An investigation into alleged prison abuses in May 1919 revealed that Wilson had allegedly been assaulted by a prison guard named Dean Bryant.
