John Watson was a resident of Bute (later Warren) County, North Carolina. In 1778 he signed a marriage bond for the marriage between William Taburn and Nelly Evans, indicating that he was likely a relative, guardian, or close friend of Nelly Evans. He died sometime after 1800.
