Biographical Description
Nehemiah Wilson Wallace was born on December 19, 1856 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Wallace was elected sheriff of Mecklenburg County in 1898 and served in that position until 1919. He later served as commissioner of public safety for the city of Charlotte. He died on December 12, 1926.
