Biographical Description

Mary Jane Haywood (née White) was born in Warrenton, Warren County, North Carolina on July 25, 1826. A resident of Raleigh, she was a distant cousin of Margaret Eliza Cotten, who mentioned her in her journal. She died in Raleigh on August 18, 1857.
