Susan Wright was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1771. In 1791 she married Judge Joshua G. Wright and the couple had at least thirteen children. In 1839 she made a sworn affidavit in support of her sister's widow's pension application, stating that as a young girl aged 8 or 9, she would go to the courthouse in Wilmington and look at Col. Thomas Brown, her sister's husband, who was imprisoned there. She died in Wilmington, North Carolina on January 30, 1842.
