John McClintock Logan was born in County Donegal, Ireland on October 15, 1797. A resident of Guilford County, North Carolina, he operated general store, held several local offices, and also served as an officer in the local militia regiment. He served at the clerk of the Guilford County Court from 1837 to 1853. He died in Greensboro on April 3, 1853.
