Withers, William Alphonso

Biographical Description

William Alphonso Withers was born in Riverview, North Carolina on May 31, 1864. Withers was an educator who served as professor (1889-1923) and vice president (1916-1923) of what is now North Carolina State University. He died in Raleigh on June 20, 1924.
