Biographical Description
James Peter Lomax was born in Yadkin County, North Carolina, on November 9, 1885. Lomax was a blacksmith and wheelwright in Elkin (Surry County) and Winston-Salem (Forsyth County). His blacksmith shop in Elkin was destroyed by the July 1916 flood. Lomax died in Winston-Salem on July 17, 1955.
