Smoot, James Clinton

Biographical Description

James Clinton Smoot was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on October 1, 1857. Smoot was a businessman connected with the tannery operation C. C. Smoot & Sons Company in North Wilkesboro (Wilkes County). He later moved to Charlotte (Mecklenburg County), at which place he died on December 6, 1922.
